About the event
More than 130 million girls around the globe don’t have the opportunity to go to school. Equal access to quality education is a human right, and girls’ rights are human rights. When girls can’t go to school, the negative impacts are felt by the girls themselves, families, communities, and countries. Girl Up is excited to announce the Reading Club Challenge to raise awareness about the lack of access to quality education for adolescent girls.
To rise to the challenge, we at BIGU are calling on all middle and high school girls to read 1 book from each category (Changemakers, Historical Fiction & Fiction, and Theories for Change), and to join us at Bainbridge Public Library in a discussion about the empowering messages and implications in each. Come and share what you've learned!
